Togwell, who spent two seasons with Barnsley before leaving last year, lost his spot to Martyn Woolford for Sunday’s 1-0 Championship victory over Coventry but could be back in for the Tykes clash.

“It will be very much a case of horses for courses, said Adkins. “There are all sorts of things we will look at.

“Togs has been bombing forward really well, but, if anything, taking up some of the space that strikers Paul Hayes and Gary Hooper utilise very well.

Garry Thompson could also benefit from the changes and the winger was unlucky not to start at the weekend.

Joe Murphy remains doubtful for the clash at Oakwell after the goalkeeper was stretchered off in the first-half with a knee injury at the weekend and Josh Lillis should again deputise after keeping Scunthorpe’s first clean sheet in 13 games.
