Isco’s agent opens door on January transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal

Isco TEAMtalk

A January move away from Spain looks likely after Isco’s agent and father said the Real Madrid man “wants to try another league”.

The 28-year-old has seen his game time limited under Zinedine Zidane this season. And his father and agent Paco Alarcon has confirmed the Spain international is ready to explore his options in the January window.

Alarcon told El Larguero: “Right now we have not received offers, but he wants to try another league.”

And it seems that both player and club are singing from the same song sheet.

Earlier this week El Confidencial (via Sport Witness) reported the “love story” between Isco and Real Madrid “seems to be coming to an end”.

Isco has been at the Bernabeu since 2013. The midfielder was a €30m recruit from Malaga and had high expectations placed upon him.

The Benalmadena-born player has played over 200 games for Los Blancos. He never pushed on though from his best season three years ago. Isco hit 10 LaLiga goals in 2016/17, but his time on the field has been limited ever since.

He has made seven appearances in La Liga this season, but only three of those outings have come from the start and he is yet to complete a full 90 minutes.

However, a move in January is not a must for Isco and he could still revaluate his future in the summer.

Alarcon added: “Staying [until the summer] would not be a problem.”

No Everton interest

Real were said to be “probing” the market for a buyer and hoping for interest from Arsenal.

Spanish outlet Fichajes go further and suggest that Mikel Arteta is interested in Isco as he looks for some midfield guile.

Meanwhile, Everton have been linked after James Rodriguez was reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison.

As per the source, there is talk of a €20m January offer from Everton.

Ancelotti though played down the talk recently.

“It is not true that I am behind Isco,” the Italian told DIRECTV SportCo. “We haven’t started thinking about the team for the January market.

“So those comments are, as they say here, bull**** (laughs).”
