Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has said that deals to sign either Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish or James Maddison would be “perfect” for the Old Trafford club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made five signings in his time as United boss, with Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo having immediate impacts before the season was brought to a halt.
Going forward, the Red Devils have been strongly linked with Sancho, having missed out on the Borussia Dortmund winger last summer.
Indeed, Aston Villa captain Grealish and Leicester midfielder Maddison have also been mentioned as targets for when the transfer window re-opens.
Speaking to MUTV, Brown explained that while Sancho would be his number one target, Grealish and Maddison both have attributes that would take Solskjaer’s side.
“I would have all three! Any one of those three would be great,” the former defender said. “Jadon Sancho would probably be No 1.
“But James Maddison looks fit and ready and determined and would also be a great asset for the club.
“Jack Grealish is an individual that gets things done, takes control of the game and has his own style. Any one of those three would be perfect I think.”
Many football clubs are set to feel the effect of a lack of football but Solskjaer has explained that United should use their financial prowess to “exploit” such a situation.
He said: “Then, the market, who knows how the market is going to react to this? Who knows which clubs need to sell players?
“There might be just a situation there where you can exploit, and I know that we at Man United we are one of the biggest, and the biggest, financially well-off.
“I’m sure we are capable, when we get back to normality, that we can do the business that we want to.”
