Manchester United are now the only team trying to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer, according to a report in Germany.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains intent on adding a winger to his squad this summer and Sancho is the man he wants more than most.

However, Borussia Dortmund are not keen on letting the England star leave for less than €130m, according to the Manchester Evening News.

But better news for United is that they now seem the only suitors for the 20-year-old, as per Sport Bild, with several of Europe’s big guns stepping away from a potential deal.

The German outlet, via the MEN, say that United are now the only side that ‘can be considered.’

However, it’s understood United will only sanction such a spend as long as they secure Champions League football, which hangs in the balance, despite their good return to Premier League action.

The report claims Dortmund are growing hopeful they can convince the 17-goal forward to extend his contract, which expires in 2022.

It sounds like it could all boil down to United’s finishing position in the Premier League and if Man City’s appeal against their European ban fails, then fifth place will be enough to get to Europe’s top table.

ESPN have reported that Solskjaer has his eye on a cheaper alternative to Sancho with Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga on his radar.

However, the MEN state that United have their eyes on Rabbi Matondo of Schalke and Velez Sarsfield’s Thaigo Almada if they fail to get Sancho.

Sancho was among the substitutes last weekend as Erling Haaland’s brace ensured Dortmund would finish runners up in the Bundesliga after they won 2-0 at RB Leipzig.

Sancho was among the substitutes for the first three games back after football returned. However, he then scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Paderborn.

A report on Saturday claimed ‘something was brewing’ over Sancho’s future and amid a worrying admission from BVB chief Michael Zorc. When he was later benched, that only served to add fuel to the fire, amid claims his ‘head was already at United’.
