John Terry could perform U-turn and join Premier League club

Chelsea defender John Terry could rebel on the club’s wishes and join a fellow Premier League side this summer, according to reports.

It is very unlikely that Terry will be offered a new contract in a playing role at Stamford Bridge next season but it’s thought the club would be prepared to provide him with a coaching job.

The 36-year-old is out of contract in the summer and it has been reported that he is likely to see out his playing career with a big-money move to China or the United States.

However, despite vowing not to play for another English side, The Times claims that Terry is now ready to consider offers from Premier League sides after strong interest in January.

Strong performances from Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill as part of a back-three has meant that the former England international has been limited to just four league starts this campaign.

And with Kurt Zouma, Nathan Ake and Andreas Christianson all set to be pushing for a start next season, it looks to be the right time for the captain to move on.
