Johnson hails Norwich form

Johnson struck a stunning 84th-minute winner as the Canaries came from behind to beat Blackburn 2-1 at Ewood Park on Tuesday night.

Maximum points from their last five games have lifted City to fifth in the table, a point behind arch rivals Ipswich in third, with the East Anglian derby to come at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Johnson told Norwich City TV: “We showed character to fight to the end and to get the result is so relieving – you could see that from the celebrations afterwards. We made it hard for ourselves in the end but we were fantastic, especially the defence.

“You can see from the past five or six games we’re together now. There are no individuals and we’re working together as a team. That’s credit to the manager; he’s come in and got us fighting from the first whistle to the last.

“He’s come in and seen we’ve got talent but talent doesn’t win games if you don’t work hard enough. If you work harder than the other team your talent will shine through.

“We’re going into games confident of what we’re doing, which is paying off with results. We’ve got a great team spirit and want to get out of the league this year.

“I want to be part of a promotion side and I believe that’s what we’re going to do. We’ve just got to pick up as many points as we can and see where we are at the end of the season.”
