Super-agent Jorge Mendes has offered Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo to Barcelona, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.
Ronaldo has enjoyed another fruitful campaign in front of goal but, aside from the Serie A title, it proved a disappointing season for the Italian giants.
Juve finished with their worst statistics from any of their last nine seasons, with the club sacking Maurizio Sarri.
However, there is reportedly turmoil as regards Ronaldo’s future. Previous reports have claimed his representative Mendes has offered the iconic forward to Paris Saint-Germain.
Now, Balague claims Mendes has offered his fellow Portuguese to Barcelona in a bid to grant Juve’s wish of removing Ronaldo from their wage bill.
“The reason why Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to PSG is not so much because PSG are thinking of getting him,” Balague told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“It’s because Jorge Mendes has been giving instructions to actually find a team for Ronaldo. We’ve seen this in the last six months, he was linked to Real Madrid, Madrid said ‘No chance, he’s not coming back’.
“You talk about MLS and all that because Juventus wants to get rid of that wage. It’s as drastic as that. He’s been offered everywhere, including Barcelona.
“I’m not sure if they can get rid of him easily. In fact, with the kind of money he still earns, he still earns €23million (£20.8million) net that he was earning at Madrid and I think he equalled his wages at Juventus.
“Who’s going to pay that kind of money?”
RAMSEY ALSO LINKED WITH JUVE EXIT
Another player linked with a move away from Juventus is midfielder Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman has had a mixed start to life in Italy due to injury.
However, new manager Andrea Pirlo reportedly wants him out of the club in order to find a replacement.
Such talk stepped up recently with the claim that Juve are willing to lose the player on a free transfer.
