TIME FOR MOURINHO TO DROP MATIC?

Hoping that our good form continues this weekend. A decent win would do our confidence no end of good.

Alfie07

Gonna be a tough game isn’t it? Some amazing stats about them season, only City, Spurs and Chelsea have won more games than them i think. And they’ve got 2 players (King & Fraser) in the top 5 for goals & assists in the league. But if we can’t beat them then we don’t deserve to be in the top 4…

happyhurling

I hope we stick to the same midfield three. Should give us a nice platform to attack from.

Alfie07

I’d take Matic out for Herrera. He looks a liability this season.

Nemanja Matic Manchester United

N1xer

Yeah, a lot of people have been saying similar N1xer. I quite like him though. I think he comes across as a calming influence though.

Alfie07

I think people are jumping on the bandwagon a bit with Matic. He’s a couple of ropey games but he’s a huge influence for us. I like it when he drops back into the space between Smalling and Lindelof – the latter clearly benefiting from the Serbian’s experience. He had an amazing ability to ghost past 3 or 4 players without losing the ball, he gets us up the pitch and out of tight situations. But, yeah, he does lose the ball a little bit too often.
Happy to keep Fred in the team though, i thought he was a huge plus point for us in the middle with his speed and energy. He’s good on the ball too.

happyhurling

This will be a tough game and confidence will grow if we win. Got to say been really impressed with Eddie Howe and the way he sets his teams out.

Lets hope we get the win, if we could put a run of wins together who knows where we can finish.

ARE LIVERPOOL IN GOOD HANDS WITH FSG?

Red Sox win again. What does it mean for us? Proof that FSG are winners or proof that their focus is elsewhere? Personally I’m in the former camp. I think we are in good hands and this organisation will bring us success. What does everyone think?

nediarb2

It is proof that they are winners. With the money being spent, we’ve got proof of intent to win here. You don’t break 2 transfer world records if you’re half assing it.

MrMakaveli

I’m with Mak, they are great owners and I think all but 1 can see that 🙂

Paxman

Haha Great maybe Good definitely

I wasn’t sure what their intent was a few years ago but it doesn’t look like it was to turn a quick profit. Financially & commercially they have improved the club dramatically success on the pitch looks on the horizon only problem is we are facing one of the best teams in premiere league history.

AK

Spot on AK, whilst we have very good owners, the unlimited funds at c$ty will prove to be a massive obstacle in our persuit of no19

Number8wasgr8

True, but we can take heart from the Red Sox winning their first championship in 86 years and Klopp breaking Bayern’s iron grip in Germany. In fact, both Klopp and FSG seem to relish a battle against the odds

nediarb2

That they do mate, on top of that Klopp probably could’ve taken on a club with more resources & in a better position than LFC but as you say I think he relishes the challenge & would prefer to build a club up.

CHELSEA TAKING A GAMBLE OVER DERBY LOANEES

I understand this match will give confidence to the youngsters but this is not strategic at all. For me this is a wrong decision. We must try our best to win trophies. By letting our loanees play against us, especially those 2 who seem to play well at their club: we increase their chance to win this match.

Anyway the decision has been taken. I personnally prioritize this Carabao Cup more than Europa as it’s the shortest way to win a trophy. But clearly the club prioritizes this Cup as the least important. I can understand why though. Hope whoever plays will still beat Derby

aindro

The club showed class once again by allowing our loanees to play against us, our promising players need every bit of exposure possible to show their class and intent and there’s no better stage. We should still beat them even if we rest 3 quarters of our regular starters.

Blueowner

I watched Derby on Friday night and they are a very decent team who are very attack minded and press high with or without Mount and Tomori we will need to take them seriously and it will take a preety strong Chelsea team to do so but equally we have to keep Sunday and Palace in mind who are always difficult opponents.

nine nine nine

I think Sarri will rotate. More rotation than Europa. Willy will start this one as he started against Pool last time. My prediction: Caballero – Zappa, Christensen, Cahill, Emerson – Kovacic, Jorginho, Kanté – Willian, Giroud, Moses.

I would like to see Hudson-Odoi get some minutes.

Callum Hudson-Odoi TEAMtalk

I would be surprised if Cesc doesn’t start v Derby I reckon 6/7 changes from the Burnley game with some players rested ahead of the Palace game. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Loftus Cheek starting v Derby too.

nine nine nine

Why would we need to play Jorginho and Kante whilst facing a championship team? Its simple give the fringe players and the kids some game time. CHO should start also play Loftus-Cheek. Ampadu must be afforded with some game time. Play Giroud up top supported by Moses and CHO and the same midfield that played against BATE. Like wise the defence should be the same.

Wise-fan

Too many changes and Derby will turn us over. Sure though I want to see CHO without fail this time.
