Jose Mourinho is watching on with intent as Unai Emery faces increasing pressure at Arsenal, according to reports.
The pressure is mounting on Emery amid the controversial Granit Xhaka saga, while Arsenal have not won a league game by more than a one-goal margin all season.
With former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Mourinho still out of work following his dismissal by the Red Devils last December, The Sun report that he wants to return to English football, where he would hope to guide a third different club from the same league to a trophy – something no Premier League boss has ever achieved.
Reports in earlier in the month suggested that Mourinho would consider taking over at Tottenham Hotspur if Mauricio Pochettino left his post, but The Sun say that he is also keeping an eye on the situation across London at Arsenal.
Mourinho is described as an ideal candidate should a job open up at the Emirates Stadium, due to his “organisation” and “leadership”.
Mourinho is waiting for the right offer having turned down approaches from several clubs, but it is thought that he would be tempted by a team the size of Arsenal.
