Julian Draxler reveals PSG star’s secret wish to sink Man Utd

Julian Draxler admits PSG teammate Angel Di Maria will return to Old Trafford on Tuesday evening with a point to prove to Manchester United.

The two giants of European football lock horns in an eagerly-anticipated Champions League Round of 16 clash – and former United star Di Maria will have more at stake than most as he returns to his former club.

The Argentine playmaker moved to Old Trafford during Louis van Gaal’s reign, with the Dutchman labeling United’s record signing at the time as “world class”.

However, Di Maria struggling during his time at United and left for Paris in a £44million deal in 2015 and Draxler knows his teammate will be hugely fired up for tonight’s game after revealing details of a private conversation between the pair.

“I was asking him some questions about Manchester United,” said Draxler. “I won’t tell you what he said, but he will be ready.

“He’s a big player. He has a lot of respect for the club, there was nothing terrible in what he said, but it was between me and him.”

PSG will be reliant on Di Maria on Tuesday night, given that Neymar is sidelined and Edinson Cavani is also set to miss out with a hip injury.

And speaking about his time in England ahead of the game, the 30-year-old told radio station France Bleu: “I only stayed one year. It wasn’t the best period of my career, or they didn’t let me have my best time there.

“There were problems with the coach at the time. But thanks to God, I was able to come to PSG and be myself again.”
