Liverpool’s potential moves for new attackers this summer will not affect Roberto Firmino’s future at the club, according to reports.

Having created arguably the deadliest front three in Europe with Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Liverpool have been heavily linked in recent months with shaking things up in the final third.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is set for a busy summer, with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds linked, along with Chelsea and Manchester United, with a move for the England star.

However, RB Leipzig hitman Timo Werner is the subject of perhaps the strongest links to Liverpool, with Klopp said to be keen to secure a move for his compatriot.

Such reports have been met with claims that one of Liverpool‘s current stars could make way, with Bayern Munich credited with interest in bringing Firmino back to the Bundesliga.

According to The Athletic journalist James Pearce, though, any Liverpool move to bring in new attackers will not be done at the expense of their current crop.

Pearce adds that Werner or Sancho will only be brought to Liverpool to compliment the options Klopp already has at his disposal.

Liverpool have been shrewd with their business in recent seasons, spending only what they have and doing so on players who have improved the team.

Philippe Coutinho was sold to Barcelona for around £142m in January 2018, with the money used to fund moves for goalkeeper Alisson Becker and centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

The pair have been two of Klopp‘s best players since their arrival and played a key part in Liverpool’s Champions League triumph last term.

Indeed, the same can be said this season, with Liverpool 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table needing five wins from their final 12 games to clinch the title.

Mane was the hero from the bench on Saturday to help the Reds preserve their unbeaten league run, scoring the winner against Norwich at a blustery Carrow Road.

Liverpool huffed and puffed in the first half but Senegal international Mane netted to earn his side a 17th successive league win.

Defender Joe Gomez has summed up the difference the reigning African Player of the Year makes to Klopp’s side.
