Jurgen Klopp has stated that Liverpool’s transfer activity this summer will continue “like it did before” after LeBron James’ increased investment in the club was confirmed this week.

Klopp believes the news of added investment in the club’s owners FSG will give Liverpool “consistency”.

RedBird, whom LeBron James is part of, will acquire more than 10 per cent of John W Henry’s FSG for £538m. The investment, based on a £5.38bn valuation for FSG, will allow the champions “to pursue future growth opportunities in a more accelerated way”.

James has been a part-owner of Liverpool since 2011 and has a two per cent stake in the club, which he bought for £4.7m. Now, he, along with Maverick Carter will become the first black partners in FSG’s history. They will also have a greater say in the happenings at Liverpool.

Klopp was asked about the impact of the investment.

“As far as I know, it means it gives us consistency in what we have done so far. But that’s it, pretty much,” said the Reds’ boss. “It’s good news. Clubs suffered as well in the last year, without supporters in the stadium. This gives us a bit more security that it will go on like it did before.”

Klopp’s men will get back to Premier League action on Saturday night against Arsenal. Asked if they could turn around their season in the run-in, Klopp was cautious.

Klopp: We have to give everything from now on

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his players have to give all they can with their sights still set on a top four finish and success in the Champions League.

Klopp: We are not in dreamland

“We are not living in dreamland, but if you ask me what I wish for in the last period then I’d say let’s go with all we have and have a look where it gets us,” said Klopp. “We don’t have a lot of points to waste anymore.

“We will not hesitate. We will go for it. We have one session to bring the players all together again.”

Roberto Firmino will be fit to face the Gunners, but Jordan Henderson remains sidelined.

Klopp said: “Bobby is back. All the others not. I have no idea about the Euros. Nothing has changed. They are where they should be at the moment. If they are ready then they are ready. They are in rehab process.”
