Manchester United face a new rival in pursuit of Donny van de Beek, Chelsea want Manuel Neuer and Barcelona are interested in a Spurs man, all in the papers.
JUVE MOVE IN FOR VAN DE BEEK
Juventus have switched their attention away from Paul Pogba, according to a report in Italy.
Calciomercato.it report that Juve are seriously considering alternatives to Pogba this summer and one of them is reported Man Utd target Donny van de Beek.
The all-action midfielder shot to prominence last season as Ajax reached the Champions League semi-finals with Van de Beek scoring 17 goals, while providing 13 assists in 57 appearances in all competitions.
Unlike some of Ajax’s other stars, the 22-year-old, who is also a target for Real Madrid, stayed put.
However, he could be on the move this summer with Juve looking seriously at him as an alternative to Pogba. Juve chief Fabio Paratici’s “dream remains to bring Paul Pogba home” but that could be very difficult due to his price tag at United.
United are thought to want to sell Pogba this summer, but they won’t let him go on the cheap and are believed to be considering offering him a new deal to maintain his value.
The Metro via Marca have reported that Manchester United are interested in signing Van de Beek, who is under contract at Ajax until 2022 and valued at around £50million
United are still looking for another central midfielder and Van de Beek has been in fine form for Ajax this time around, scoring 10 goals and hitting 11 assists in 37 appearances.
But Juve’s interest does not spell good news for United. As reported by Rai Sport journalist Paolo Paganini via Calciomercato.it the Bianconeri have “intensified contacts with the Dutch club for van de Beek”.
