Gary Cahill: Man City defeat was "disappointing"

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has turned down potential moves to Juventus, Monaco and Fulham during the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports News.

The Blues looked set to let the England centre-back depart in January, with Cahill making only seven appearances so far this season.

The report goes on to claim that Chelsea and Fulham had agreed a deal permanent deal for Cahill, but the 33-year-old was unable to agree personal terms with Claudio Ranieri’s side.

Former England international Cahill also turned down potential moves to Serie A giants Juventus and Ligue 1 outfit Monaco this month in order to continue fighting for his place in Maurizio Sarri’s plans, claimed Sky Sports News.

Cahill’s contract with the Blues is due to expire at the end of the season, and there appears to be little chance of a renewal.

Should he leave in the summer, the former Bolton and Aston Villa defender will leave behind a glittering career at Stamford Bridge, with two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Europa League all on his CV during a seven-year spell at Chelsea.
