Juventus eye Newcastle, Spurs targets as possible alternatives to Liverpool star

A report from Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport claims Juventus are considering a move for Andre Gomes and Dennis Praet as possible replacements for Emre Can.

German international Can’s current deal at Liverpool runs out at the end of the season, and speculation has mounted suggesting the midfielder will move to Turin on a free transfer.

Can is out until the end of the season with a back problem, but has impressed for Liverpool during the season, making 26 appearances – of whilst 24 have been starts.

Corriere dello Sport say Juventus fear that the deal for Can will fall through, and they see Tottenham target Andre Gomes and Newcastle target Dennis Praet as potential replacements for the German.

Whilst a deal for Can could still be wrapped up, a final confirmation from the player has caused the nervousness amongst the Juve ranks.

Gomes almost joined Spurs last summer, and Juve have already drawn links with him, much like Praet, whose impressive performances for Sampdoria have attracted the interest of Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez.
