Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo has resigned from his position as technical director at The Bridge.
The Premier League club have confirmed earlier reports from The Telegraph that suggested the 53-year-old Emenalo had called time on his spell with the club after being appointed into the role in August 2011.
It ends a 10-year association with the Blues in which time Emenalo has become a firm favourite of owner Roman Abramovich.
It’s understood that Antonio Conte was not an admirer of Emenalo, who was a key player in recruitment, although the latter remained supportive of the Italian coach.
Emenalo, who has been linked with a return to football with Ligue 1 giants Monaco by the Independent, has come under added pressure of late as the power struggle between Conte and Blues director Marina Granovskaia has developed.
Emenalo offered to resign from his role in May 2013 to facilitate the return of Jose Mourinho, but Abramovich turned doe the request.
