Tottenham could welcome back several key men for Saturday’s Premier League home clash with Crystal Palace.
Giovani Lo Celso is undergoing rehab on the hip injury that has sidelined him for the next six weeks, while Juan Foyth is “concluding late stages of conditioning before returning to training”, and will also miss out against the Eagles.
Davinson Sanchez is being assessed for an ankle problem – being described as an irritation – but could still be in the squad.
However, there is some good news, with Tanguy Ndombele (thigh), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring) and Eric Dier (hip) all back in training and being assessed for selection.
Speaking about Lo Celso’s injury ahead of the clash with Roy Hodgson’s men, Pochettino said: “Always it’s a sad situation, very disappointed. For Giovani, the first months here was to adapt to a new club and new football. Everything he was doing in a very good way.
“We are all so disappointed because now we need to wait for him. In the same way we need to be positive, it’s not another way to take it, but we need to be positive and try to provide him with good quality training and recovery.
“In the moment that he’s ready, to be strong and start to help the team again.”
