Klopp makes key decision on future of two Liverpool loan stars

Liverpool will allow loan stars Harry Wilson and Rhian Brewster to remain at Bournemouth and Swansea, respectively, until the end of the season, according to a report.

Wilson moved to the Cherries last summer and has been a regular feature for Eddie Howe’s side, while Brewster has scored four goals in 11 matches for Steve Cooper’s team since singing in January.

As with loan players across all Premier League clubs, the duo are expected back by July which, in normal circumstances, would allow them to begin pre-season with the Reds.

However, the enforced break – and the certainty of the season going into July – means a decision must be taken on whether to allow the pair to remain at their loan clubs or move back to Anfield.

According to The Times, Liverpool have agreed to allow Wilson to help the Cherries avoid relegation to the Championship while The Telegraph adds that Brewster will remain in South Wales.

Wilson has scored seven goals in 27 games for Bournemouth, who are in the bottom three on goal difference with nine games remaining.

Swansea, meanwhile, are three points off the play-off places in 11th.

Brewster was included in Liverpool‘s squad for the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup double-header and despite not making an appearance in any competition, he did play twice in the EFL Cup and once in the League Cup.

The future of Wilson, 23, has been the subject of speculation in the past week, with Leeds United said to be interested and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp believed to be willing to listen to offers for the Wales international.

Indeed, one pundit has backed Wilson to impress if he made the move to Elland Road.

In other news, Liverpool have reportedly offered a players-plus-cash offer for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
