Klopp denies Ter Stegen rumours; cool on Balotelli future
Jurgen Klopp has denied rumours that Liverpool are planning a January move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The Reds were once again linked with the Barcelona goalkeeper over the weekend, with reports suggesting the Reds were set to offer up to £20million for the German.
But, Klopp, who has always been adamant he will not seek to sign a new goalkeeper during this window, insisted once again he is happy to stick with Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan.
When asked about whether he’d make a move for Ter Stegen this month, Klopp, speaking at a press conference to preview Tuesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final with Stoke, said: “No (I don’t want him).
“Our goalkeeper situation is absolutely OK.
“Simon Mignolet is a really good goalkeeper.”
Klopp was then asked about the future of Mario Balotelli following reports the player sees his future at Anfield and not at loan club AC Milan.
Balotelli is on a season-long loan at the San Siro, but Klopp commented: “At this time I don’t have time to think about next summer. I am just thinking about what we can change in this moment.”
