Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his side will “have a lot of fun” with young midfielder Curtis Jones in the years to come.

Jones, 19, scored his third goal of the season on Sunday to make certain of Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa.

Brought on in the 85th minute, the Merseyside-born teenager netted his first Premier League goal four minutes later.

The goal was the perfect way for Jones to celebrate his new five-year contract at Anfield, signed on Saturday.

And Klopp, who expressed his delight with the way the midfielder finished his chance, vowed that his talent will not go to waste.

“This is Curtis in a nutshell,” Klopp said of Jones’ goal. “His first touch is pretty much a finish, and the goal he scored, you have to be in that position.

“He sees the cross coming, it looks a little bit long, then the wind slows it down. Mo [Mohamed Salah] can get the ball and Curtis is in or at the six-yard box.

“It’s incredible, and he can finish the situation off. That is really special, and special about him.

“He has signed a new contract, which is good for him and for us. We will have a lot of fun with him in the future.”

JONES MAKES HIS LIVERPOOL MARK

Jones made his first-team debut last season in an FA Cup tie away at Wolves.

However, he has made his mark this term. After his Premier League debut in December, Jones scored a fantastic curled winner to send the Reds past Everton into the FA Cup fourth round in January.

And the midfielder followed that up with a goal against Shrewsbury in the fourth round.

Now, he is in the hunt to earn a Premier League winners’ medal before the season is out. The appearance against Villa was his third of the league campaign, meaning he needs two more outings to qualify.
