Klopp may have decision to make after PL rivals move for Clyne

Nathaniel Clyne TEAMtalk

Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is a transfer target for Leicester, according to reports.

Both the Daily Mirror and The Sun claim Leicester are lining up a January move for the right-back, who has fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp

The 27-year-old missed the majority of last season with a back problem and lost his place at Anfield to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

Clyne, who signed from Southampton in a £12.5m deal three years ago under Brendan Rodgers, has until June 202o on his existing deal and Klopp could decide to sell him, rather than run down his contract.

Clyne has made 76 league appearances for the club, but he has played just once this term – in the League Cup and Leicester are looking for a answer to their right-back problem.

Ghanian centre-back Daniel Amartey is the man Claude Puel is playing at right-back at the minute, but he looks more at home in the middle, while Danny Simpson continues to be left out and new signing Ricardo Pereira has been pushed forward into a midfield role.
