Klopp says he has no idea about what goalkeepers do in training

Jurgen Klopp TEAMtalk

Jurgen Klopp has no doubt who Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper is, despite admitting he has no idea what Alisson and Adrian do in training.

Alisson started the season in goal, but was injured in the opening game against Norwich and has only recently returned.

The Brazilian’s calf problem meant he has only just returned and played in thei 1-1 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.

Klopp said that Adrian, who has performed admirably in Alisson’s absence, was “calm” when he was told he would be dropped to the bench.

Former West Ham keeper Adrian found himself taking the goalkeeping gloves for Premier League and Champions League games and kept two clean sheets in 10 games.

Ahead of Liverpool’s Wednesday night Champions League game against Genk, Klopp shared his thoughts on the two goalkeepers.

“It was always clear when Ali was fit he would play,” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.

“Adrian took it calm, they have been good for each other in training, the spirit in that goalkeeper training group is really strong. I like watching them, I have no clue what they do but I like watching them.”
