Ronald Koeman: Pondering move for United duo

Ronald Koeman has claimed he is unsure as to whether progress has been made in signing Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United.

The need for Everton to strengthen was made even clearer after they were knocked out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 defeat to Leicester at Goodison Park.

And while Koeman did not know whether the Toffees had responded with a better offer after Jose Mourinho issued a firm warning about the pair, he did concede that Everton do need some fresh faces to arrive over the coming month.

“I don’t know” Koeman told reporters after the match when questioned specificly about Depay and Schneiderlin.

“I know what we need to change. If everybody opened their eyes today, maybe we will get further in our improvement as a team, because that is really what the team needs, and okay – that is all about what happens this month.

“I have that (bringing new players in) in mind and the board knows because we spoke together about what we need and the team needs.”
