Kylian Mbappe has reiterated his respect for Liverpool and boss Jurgen Klopp in another round of outrageous flirting.
The superstar forward is believed to be on Klopp’s list of desirable players, but the 21-year-old will come with a record-breaking price tag with many expecting the France star to eclipse the £198million PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar in August of 2017.
Klopp has previously admitted that he would like one of the world’s marquee signings: “If we can get one of them in the future, we will see,” he said recently.
Klopp is even said to have spoken to Mbappe’s father about a potential move, and now a month after labelling Liverpool a “machine” the exciting attacker has once again gone on a charm offensive with the Reds.
“This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League,” Mbappe told the Daily Mirror.
“They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.
“Performances like they have been having don’t just happen.
“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”
As reported by Sportsmail, Liverpool did make contact with the representative of Mbappe in the summer of 2017, when the then Monaco star was preparing to make his first big move.
Earlier this season, PSG sporting director Leonardo gave an insight into their anger at Real Madrid’s constant efforts to turn the player’s head.
Leonardo admitted it was frustrating to see Mbappe linked with Madrid, and appeared to be growing frustrated with Zinedine Zidane’s constant attempts to tempt Mbappe to Los Blancos.
“Honestly, it bothers a little, it bothers. This is not the time to talk about dreams and all that. Stop it,” he said.
“Mbappe is very important to us and this is not the time to destabilize it. He is the best young French player, world champion, one of the best in the world.
“This is not the time to touch it and destabilize it. It is time to stop. He has two and a half years of contract with us.”
Earlier this month, speaking on the Match of the Day Podcast Ian Wright admitted he could see Liverpool signing Mbappe.
“You could see Mbappe, at the moment, at Liverpool. You can definitely see that,” said Wright.
“If we’re talking about it now, I could see Mbappe at Liverpool but where would he fit into? I think Liverpool are at that level where Mbappe could go to.”
