Kylian Mbappe insists PSG’s defenders will be on their guard against the dangers posed to them by a player Paul Pogba can’t stop raving about.
United and PSG renew rivalries in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. The 21-year-old PSG attacker has already spoken at length how strange it will be to come up against former teammate Edinson Cavani.
However, the player the Ligue 1 giants will most be wary of is Marcus Rashford. The England forward already scored the winning goal from the penalty spot the last time the sides met two seasons ago.
And Mbappe knows all too well just how good he is after revealing Pogba can’t stop talking about the attacker.
“He’s one of the most dangerous forward players in England,” said Mbappe.
“Paul Pogba has spoken about how special he is and he doesn’t talk about players in such a way often.
“When you take a penalty in that situation, how much practice you have put on the training ground doesn’t matter. It’s about confidence and he’s a player who plays with so much confidence.”
Bruno Fernandes to skipper United
Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani will all be absent for United after failing to travel to France.
Maguire’s absence has allowed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to name Bruno Fernandes as captain for the night.
“We’re a little bit depleted but we have got more than enough players,” the United boss said.
“We hope the players won’t be away for too long. Edinson needs a few more days training before maybe we can think about the weekend.
“Hopefully Harry, Eric and Mason as well but we’re not sure about that.”
“We hope Harry will be fit for the weekend,” he added. “We’re not sure but we hope so and the captain sits next to me – Bruno will captain the team.”
