Lampard clarifies Chelsea ace’s exit speculation as Bayern boss weighs in

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reiterated his desire to retain the services of Callum Hudson-Odoi, though did hint that an exit may materialise if it is the player’s desire.
The 19-year-old has been with The Blues since the age of seven.
But despite being one of the brightest young prospects around, regular gametime has been difficult to come by.
The summer acquisitions of Kai Havertz and particularly Hakim Ziyech have done little to convince Hudson-Odoi a regular slot in the starting eleven could be readily achieved this year.
As such, recent reports revealed that a deal in principle had been ‘reached’ with Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.
A recent trend in German football has been to bring in highly-rated English players with a view to developing them into world class superstars.
Jadon Sancho’s switch to Borussia Dortmund is the prime example, while Jude Bellingham’s move from Birmingham City was the latest to fit the mould.
Hudson-Odoi started Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday. Though despite impressing, Lampard admitted a deal may yet materialise if the player has his heart set on a move.
“Callum is absolutely part of my plans here,” said Lampard (via Sky Sports). “I’m very pleased with him. By Monday we will know a definitive answer.
“If they’ve declared their interest then that’s one thing, but everything that happens by Monday will be either things that are firstly good for us as a club.
“Callum’s our player, and also what Callum wants will come into consideration, but it has to be right for everybody.
“At the minute I want Callum part of my squad.”
Bayern boss weighs in on Chelsea ace
Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick spoke about Hudson-Odoi during his pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Hertha Berlin.
Though he admitted he is unsure if a deal can yet be reached, Flick reemphasised the talents that have Bayern interested in the youngster.
“I don’t know what will happen. He’s one of the best talents on his position and can play as a winger and even as a striker.
“That’s why Bayern Munich is thinking about him.”
