Two men Chelsea will not sell, despite summer exodus plans
Chelsea are planning to offload several first-team players this summer to help Frank Lampard rebuild his squad, but there are two players they are definitely not looking to sell.
Lampard is keen to revamp his squad this summer after not adding to his charges in January and they are believed to be interested in Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund.
The England star has a £120million price tag on his head and ESPN claim the Blues are “wary of committing” that type of money on a player with all the uncertainty surround the coronavirus pandemic.
The Daily Express has claimed they want to bank close to £80million for the sales of Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko. Morata’s permanent €65million to Atletico Madrid should go through this summer, while the Blues will be hopeful of moving Bakayoko back to Monaco permanently.
ESPN though claim that Lampard has deemed several other Chelsea players as “surplus to requirements”. They include Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Michy Batshuayi and Davide Zappacosta.
However, two players whom Chelsea are not looking to offload, and who have been linked with transfers, are N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Kante has been linked with Real Madrid, but the “29-year-old is an important part of Lampard’s plans” and is believed to be settled in the capital.
Meanwhile, Jorginho who Sky Sports claim is a target for Juventus in a swap deal Miralem Pjanic, is also a player Lampard wants to keep. Ther Italian improved under Lampard this season Lampard “does not have a particular interest” in Pjanic.
Instead the report claims Lampard is looking to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell. Chelsea are hoping to sign a forward with Lyon’s Moussa Dembele their preferred option, but Timo Werner and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also under consideration.
