Latest Gareth Bale development fuels Spurs, Chelsea transfer rumours

Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale could be set for a move to Chelsea or Tottenham after reportedly buying a house in London.

The Welshman was expected to become one of Real’s leading lights after Cristiano Ronaldo’s surprise switch to Serie A, and they gave Bale the chance to step into the void left by Ronaldo, but as yet he has failed to step up to the plate.

Bale has scored five goals and earned two assists in 17 league games, but Real were hoping for more and they are understood to be ready to acknowledge that they made a mistake and will consider shipping him out.

Don Balon claimed last month that both United and their rivals Liverpool have made attractive offers to try and secure a deal for Bale.

Now the latest reports from Don Balon have suggested that the Welsh superstar has bought a place in London ahead of an imminent return to the Premier League.

Naturally, after he scored 42 goals from 146 goals in six years at White Hart Lane, a return to Tottenham could be on the cards.

He left the club for a record-breaking £88m (€100m) back in 2013, and has won four Champions Leagues since moving to the Spanish capital.

However, Chelsea could usurp a Spurs return as they could be looking for a star signing to replace Eden Hazard, who is reportedly set to move in the opposite direction.

Reports in the Spanish media have set Bale’s value at around £70m, making Madrid set to lose money on him. The Wales international will be 30 in the summer and has suffered chronic injury problems in recent years.
