Inter Milan chiefs are plotting a £26million bid for a key Liverpool star, while Manchester United have 10 names on their list of summer targets – all in the latest Paper Talk.

INTER CHIEFS READY BID FOR LIVERPOOL ACE

Inter Milan chiefs have reportedly discussed the prospect of bidding £26million for Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.

The 29-year-old has just over a year left on his current contract on Merseyside, although the Reds are in the process of tabling a new offer, as reported by the Daily Express.

Wijnaldum’s contract is said to have been been the ‘elephant in the room’ at Anfield for several months now, with Jurgen Klopp can to get the issue resolves.

Despite his wish, the report adds that Klopp and the club remain relaxed about Wijnaldum’s future and are confident he will not choose to leave the club in the near future.

The Holland international has been a regular in Klopp’s side ever since he arrived at Anfield but his importance to the team has increased since he formed a fine midfield tandem with Jordan Henderson in Liverpool’s engine room.

Some reports had claimed that Wijnaldum would make way in the summer of 2018, when both Fabinho and Naby Keita arrived on Merseyside, but if anything the Dutchman has become more key to how the Reds play.

However, Tuttomercato claims that Inter Milan are just one of the clubs monitoring Wijnaldum’s situation.

Given that his contract is running so low, the Italians feel there may be an opportunity to swoop and secure a deal at a cut-price.

Inter are preparing to offer around £26million for the former Newcastle man, although it’s claimed that the Inter hierarchy are well aware that the player is more likely to stay at Liverpool.
