Paper Talk: Liverpool given nod to fast-track deal for €20m winger

Liverpool have been given the nod to make a move for a highly-rated Anderlecht winger, while Arsenal are keen on signing two Serie A brothers, according to Thursday’s newspaper gossip.

LIVERPOOL GIVEN NOD TO MOVE FOR WINGER

Liverpool have seemingly been given the green light to fast-track a move for an attacking target this summer.

Reports in Thursday’s media claim that Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht are ready to cash in on forward Jeremy Doku and will accept offers worth €20million (£17.6m).

The youngster, who will turn 18 in May, is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season for Kompany’s men, with the Belgium Under-21 international netting seven goals during his 24 league and cup outings.

Indeed, Doku bagged a brace in Anderlecht’s last league outing before the enforced break, which caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The report, which initially came from GhanaSoccerNet, claims that AC Milan are also keen on Doku, who has a contract that runs until the summer 2022.

Just last month, Belgian website Het Nieuwsblad stated that Liverpool were plotting a move for Doku in 2021, although that could now be fast-tracked to this summer given Anderlecht’s decision to sell.

Doku has been viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Sadio Mane at Anfield, as Real Madrid continue to be strongly linked with a move for the Reds ace.
