Exciting trait sees Leeds prepare move for second rising Brighton star

Leeds United are one of a number of clubs to have registered firm interest in Brighton defender Haydon Roberts, according to a report.
The 18-year-old plays in the Seagulls‘ Under-23s set-up, having made the step up from the Under-18s last summer.
Indeed, the Englishman has enjoyed an exciting season; after making his England Under-18s debut at the start of September, he ended the month by scoring on his Brighton debut in the EFL Cup.
According to The Telegraph, Leeds feel Roberts has the potential to make an instant impact in senior football.
However, the Whites are not the only side keen; Brentford and Derby are monitoring his situation closely, while RB Leipzig and Mainz have scouted the centre-back.
Overall, Roberts has over 20 England youth caps and he stood out in last year’s European Under-17 Championships.
The newspaper adds that Roberts could become the second exciting Brighton talent to come through the club. What’s more, he could be the second to go to Leeds.
Ben White moved to Elland Road on loan last summer and has proved a fantastic addition. The 22-year-old has not missed a minute of Championship action this term, helping Leeds boast the division’s joint-best defensive record.
Indeed, the defender has, at times, stepped into midfield and showed impressive versatility. The Telegraph says there is hope Roberts could follow in his footsteps.
LEEDS TO WRAP UP DOUBLE SIGNING?
Elsewhere, reports claim Leeds will look to complete the permanent signings of two more loanees after tying down Helder Costa.
Portugal international Costa joined the Whites on loan last summer from Wolves. His deal always contained an obligation to make permanent this summer and Leeds confirmed that on Tuesday.
He has agreed a four-year contract and has cost United £16million.
Leeds, however, are unlikely to be done there. Reports claim they will spend another £13m to tie down two other Bielsa favourites in Jack Harrison and Illan Meslier.
