Leeds join Man Utd race for star talent who is latest off lucrative assembly line

Abdallah Sima Slavia Prague v Bayer Leverkusen October 2021

Leeds United have joined the hunt for Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima ahead of the summer transfer window, a report claims.

The Whites are coming to the end of what has proved a fantastic first season back in the Premier League. Expectations were unclear for Marcelo Bielsa’s men after a 16-year absence from the top flight. But as a result of cementing a strong showing and aiming for a top-half finish, Leeds have made a welcome return.

Key summer signings have played vital roles in the club’s form over the campaign; winger Raphinha has become a fan-favourite while Diego Llorente is performing well after early setbacks.

Nevertheless, some have predicted Leeds to reach the Champions League if they continue in the same way. To do that, they must have another strong transfer window heading into next season.

According to Football Insider, the Whites are planning another ‘significant recruitment drive’.

What’s more, Sima is one player who has cropped up on Bielsa’s radar. The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene this season, scoring 19 goals in 36 games.

However, arguably more admirable is that he is doing so in his first season of senior football; he made his debut in September and has not looked back.

Still, his form may not come as a surprise given that Slavia Prague have a recent penchant for producing lucrative talent.

Stuart Dallas, who scored both Leeds' goals in the 2-1 win at Manchester City, says he always believed they were in with a chance of causing an upset at the Etihad Stadium.

West Ham have benefitted the most from their development, pinching Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal. Both players have proved fantastic signings since joining David Moyes’ ranks.

Indeed, Football Insider adds that the Hammers’ ‘huge success’ in the Czech market has alerted other clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, to Sima’s services.

For Leeds, though, Bielsa is looking to sign attacking reinforcements this summer and Sima fits his criteria.
