Leeds, Middlesbrough in battle to land Klopp favourite from Liverpool

Sheyi Ojo TEAMtalk

Middlesbrough and Leeds are reportedly leading a clutch of Championship clubs looking to sign Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on loan this season.

The 21-year-old impressed in a loan spell at Fulham last season, as the Cottagers eventually ended up sealing a return to the Premier League.

And the report in the Daily Mirror states that Klopp is ready to let the England U20 World Cup-winning ace make a temporary move again, despite being a big fan of the player.

Klopp said: “Here it is a little bit difficult, especially for the offensive players.

“Ojo played a fantastic pre-season, really good and confident technically, really strong, improved a lot in tactical things and his attitude was great.”

Middlesbrough are looking at potential replacements for Adama Traore, who has an £18m release clause and is a major target for promoted Wolves.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds are also said to be in the running for the player and have already made some decent signings this summer after landing Barry Douglas, Chelsea loan pair Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman, plus Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been boosted in their efforts to sign Christian Pulisic – after being tipped to strike an advanced deal just like they did with Naby Keita. Read the full story here
