Leeds monitoring League One star ahead of potential January move

Leeds United have emerged as strong suitors for a League One starlet, as Marcelo Bielsa casts an eye over the defender during the international break.

Luton Town right-back James Justin has seemingly caught the eye of Whites boss Bielsa, who was spotted at Oakwell as Barnsley saw off the Hatters 3-2 on Saturday.

Should a move for the 20-year-old materialise, he would act as direct cover for Luke Ayling, with Gaetano Berardi preferred as a centre-back under the Argentinian coach.

After being linked with the Whites back in January, Justin will add much-needed depth within the United ranks and hopefully bolster the club’s push for promotion.

The Luton Town golden boy isn’t the only player linked with a move to Elland Road in January, with Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay also touted to join the promotion chasers when the winter window opens after struggling for game-time under Jose Mourinho this season.

The rumours come at a time when Leeds’ squad has been tested to the limit by a series of recent injuries, with Berardi, Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe, Patrick Bamford and Barry Douglas all sidelined.
