Leeds ready to swoop after Tottenham see defender bid rebuffed

Dan Happe TEAMtalk

Leeds United could be ready to pounce after Tottenham reportedly saw a £300,000 bid for Leyton Orient defender Dan Happe turned down.

The 20-year-old centre-back had a hugely impressive campaign for Orient last season as they returned to the Football League under the guidance of Justin Edinburgh, who sadly passed away last month.

Spurs, who have already signed Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele this summer, are said to have failed in their bid to land the player – with The Sun now claiming that Marcelo Bielsa’s men, who have already made six summer signings, are ready to make an offer for Happe.

Leicester and Norwich are also said to have shown an interest in the player, with Orient hoping that a bidding war ensues to drive up the price for the defender.

The report also states that Orient are hoping to sign the player back on a season-long loan as part of any potential deal.
