Leeds are reportedly looking to take advantage of Aston Villa’s financial concerns by trying to tempt Steve Bruce to Elland Road.
Bruce is said to be completely in the dark about Villa’s financial troubles, with the club said to have been on the brink of administration before they reached an agreement with HM Revenue & Customs over their £4m tax bill.
Leeds are considering the possibility of Bruce after talks with experienced Argentine Marcelo Bielsa slowed down due to concerns over whether he actually wants to manage in the Championship.
Former Manchester United skipper Bruce has had his critics over the years but no manager has won promotion to the Premier League more than the 57-year-old.
He did, however, suffer heartache this season when Villa lost out to Fulham in the Championship play-off final.
The report in The Telegraph claims that Bruce has not yet given an answer to Leeds who, at this stage, would still favour a move for Bielsa but are keeping the Villa chief in mind.
