Leeds switch focus to Liverpool attacking duo as Odsonne Edouard hopes stall

Shaqiri Origi Liverpool TEAMtalk

Leeds are reportedly considering a move for two Liverpool attackers if they fail in their bid to land top target Odsonne Edouard.

Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster are the two players in question, with the latter potentially a loan deal.

Origi is open to a permanent move this summer, as looks to secure himself regular first-team football.

And the Daily Mirror claims that Marcelo Bielsa’s men have already made an enquiry about taking him.

The report adds that Celtic frontman Edouard remains Bielsa’s main target, although Leeds face a number of rivals for his signature.

That could pave the way for a move for 25-year-old Origi, who wants to stay in the Premier League.

The Belgian forward appeared 42 times in all competitions for the Reds last season, scoring six times.

Brewster, meanwhile, is set for another loan spell away from Anfield after enjoying a successful stint at Swansea last season.

And the report adds that Leeds are keen to add him to their ranks as Bielsa shapes his squad a return to the Premier League.

Tottenham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham have also been linked with a move for the highly-rated Liverpool starlet.

BIELSA PROMISED ATTACKING REINFORCEMENTS

Ahead of their top-flight return, several reports have indicated attack is an area Leeds are keen to strengthen. Patrick Bamford impressed again last season but he is likely to need significant support.

Those reports have claimed the likes of Stuttgart’s Nicolas Gonzales and, more recently, Rodrigo Moreno are targets.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, Portugal Under-21 international Leao is also on a shortlist. Read more…
