Leeds to rival Man Utd in race to land Blackburn starlet

Blackburn: O

Leeds United are reportedly ready to take on Manchester United in the race to sign Blackburn starlet Jake Garrett this summer.

The 15-year-old centre-back is attracting plenty of attention after impressing for Rovers’ Under-18 side this season, with clubs from the Premier League and Championship ready to swoop.

ESPN reports that Leeds are looking to raid Ewood Park for the talented defender, with owner Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta looking to strengthen the club’s already impressive youth squads.

Manchester United, however, are looking to do likewise with their youth set-up at Old Trafford and also have Garrett on their radar.

For their part Rovers, who won promotion back to the Championship this season, are desperate to keep hold of the player and will try and resist any offers.

Fellow Championship outfits Fulham and Derby are also said to be keen, while Leicester, Watford and Crystal Palace have also had Garrett watched.
