Leeds turn to other targets after ditching move for Liverpool star

Ryan Kent TEAMtalk

Leeds United look like they are set to pull the plug on their attempts to sign Liverpool winger Ryan Kent this summer.

The young attacker has been chased by Leeds and Rangers, where he spent last season on loan, this summer but it would appear that Marcelo Bielsa has moved on to other targets for the time being.

The report on Football Insider claims that the 22-year-old has his heart set on either a permanent move away from Anfield, or a second loan spell at Ibrox under Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool are believed to want a fee of around £12m for Kent, a fee which seemingly puts Leeds out of the equation in terms of seeking a permanent deal for the highly-rated young talent.

Kent, who has also enjoyed loan spells at Coventry City and Barnsley, does appear likely to move on though – given that the likes of Ben Woodburn and Rhian Brewster are ahead of him in the pecking order to break into the first-team at Anfield.
