Leeds chief Orta opens talks for exciting Rubin Kazan attacker – report

Leeds United are reported to have made contact with Rubin Kazan over a deal for highly-rated young winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have made an impressive return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence. Sunday’s draw with Manchester United lifted them above Arsenal into ninth. And having bought so well last summer, plans are already afoot for the 2021 transfer window.
Top of their agenda is the capture of another midfielder. Leeds need more options in the area, having looked light whenever Kalvin Phillips has missed out. To that end, they have been linked with a move for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
Leeds, however, are also reported to have made an approach to sign Georgian talent Kvaratskhelia. The 20-year-old has caught the eye on the international stage, having scored against Spain last month.
He has three goals in eight appearances for his country and looks a future star.
Indeed, Bayern Munich are also reported to have made contact over a prospective move.
However, Football Fancast also claims Leeds director of football Victor Orta has also been in contact over a move. They say he has held talks with his agent over a potential switch to Elland Road.
While it’s uncertain at this stage whether a move is close, any transfer would be subject to the player obtaining a work permit.
Kvaratskhelia, who can play on either wing, joined Rubin Kazan in 2019, signing a five-year deal until 2024.

Leeds learn of Tagliafico fee
Another area Leeds are looking to strengthen is at left-back. While pleased with Stuart Dallas’ adaptation to the Premier League, Leeds need to replace Ezgjan Alioski at the end of his contract.
One name they are looking at is Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentina international could be ready to finally switch to the Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail, his asking price has reduced to just £13m. However, that in turn has put Manchester City on alert as well.
Therefore, Leeds will have to fight hard to convince Tagliafico that they would be the right destination.
