Leicester City have reached an agreement to sign defender Caglar Soyuncu from Bundesliga side Freiburg for an undisclosed fee on transfer deadline day.
The Turkey international has agreed personal terms and passed a medical ahead of the Foxes opening match against Manchester United on Friday.
Soyuncu has signed a five-year contract at the King Power Stadium but the deal is still subject to a work permit being granted.
He made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga last campaign for Freiburg as the club finished 15th in the German top-flight, while he has been capped 15 times for his country.
Not only have Leicester added to their backline, more importantly they have managed to hang onto Harry Maguire with the centre-back heavily linked to Manchester United.
