Leicester star’s agent has no time for Arsenal, Man City transfer links

Caglar Soyuncu TEAMtalk

Caglar Soyuncu’s agent has shut down all talk of his client moving to Arsenal or champions Manchester City.

The Turkey centre-back has been impressive for Leicester this season and his partnership with Jonny Evans has been a huge factor in the Foxes’ charge into second place in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have conceded just eight goals in the league and that has led to Soyuncu, who has been a more than able replacement for Harry Maguire, being mentioned as a target for Arsenal and City.

Turkish newspaper Star has claimed Gunners scouts watched him for his country against Iceland in Euro 2020 qualifying action recently, while the Daily Mirror has said that Arsenal were keen on Soyuncu when he played for Freiburg, but were beaten to his signing by Leicester.

But his agent Mustafa Dogru says his man will not be moving anywhere, he told Turkish radio station Radyospor: “Of course it’s perfectly normal for him to be involved in transfer speculation after his performances with Leicester City this season.

“However, we have no interest in this discussion. Both club and Caglar are looking to continue with each other. He is only focusing on the remaining of the season.”

Only yesterday 90min.com claimed Brendan Rodgers was set to raid former club Celtic for six-foot-six goliath Kristoffer Ajer.

That led to suggestions that Arsenal may be able get their hands on Soyuncu with Leicester keen to bring in the Celtic man.
