Leicester winger favours a move to Arsenal over Liverpool

Riyad Mahrez prefers a move to Arsenal over fellow Premier League outfit Liverpool, according to reports.

The Daily Express (yes, we know) claim in an exclusive that insiders close to Mahrez have told them that the Leicester City winger favours Arsenal as his next club.

Mahrez was expected to leave Leicester last summer, but a move for the Algerian never materialised.

Now, with Liverpool having sold Philippe Coutinho and Arsenal close to selling Alexis Sanchez, Mahrez has been linked to both clubs. It is worth pointing out that Liverpool have denied all interest in Mahrez.

The Express point out that Mahrez has bought a property in London – unsurprisingly they label that as ‘sending a message’ to Arsenal.

However, Claude Puel believes that Mahrez is happy at Leicester City, and is determined that his star player will not be put off by speculation.

Arsenal really is the natural fit for Mahrez, where he could play in the same position as Sanchez but be more of a creator for Alexandre Lacazette than Sanchez is.
