Leroy Sane explains to friends his big future decision

Leroy Sane has told friends he will sign a new contract at Manchester City and snub a move to Bayern Munich, says a report.

The Germany international is wanted in Bavaria with Bayern understood to have seen a bid for the winger turned down earlier in the summer.

Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed earlier this month that the Bundesliga champions would make a renewed bid to sign Sane, as long as the player asked to leave The Etihad.

“We have not made an offer for Leroy Sane. It is far from that,” he told Sport Bild.

“First, the player has to decide if he can imagine coming to Bayern. If that’s the case, then we’ll go into concrete negotiations with Manchester City.

Sane is under contract with domestic treble winners for the next two seasons, but Bayern are in need of some attacking flair and are looking to fill the sizeable shoes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The City forward remains locked in contract talks at the Etihad and The Sun report there has been no breakthrough in new contract talks. However, the tabloid claims Sane has told pals that he is happy to extend his time in England.

The 23-year-old apparently believes England is where the best players are competing and he is also “believed to have reservations about going home, where he is under massive scrutiny”.

Sane has had a whole host of Bayern stars welcoming him to the German giants, but he is understood to be reticent to return to his homeland after been heavily criticised playing for the national team.

He has 21 caps for Germany, but he was left out of their World Cup squad last summer and his “body language” was criticised by German legend Toni Kroos.
