Chris Dagnall is set to make his full Leyton Orient debut in the game.

The striker came on as a half-time substitute at Crewe last weekend following his switch from Barnsley and scored both Orient’s goals as they came from behind to win 2-1.

Top scorer David Mooney is close to returning from a spell out with a foot injury but fellow forward Shaun Batt remains sidelined by a hamstring problem, although he has stepped up his training.

Midfielder Marvin Bartley (back) will be checked over while Eldin Jakupovic continues in goal with Jamie Jones recovering from a back injury.

Coventry will again only be missing forward Callum Wilson.

Wilson has been on the sidelines since he dislocated his shoulder on New Year’s Day and he is not expected to return to action until March.

Sky Blues captain Carl Baker admitted the players were “absolutely shattered” after Friday’s 4-0 defeat at Arsenal in the FA Cup but he expects them all to be fighting fit for another big game.

There have been no further bids for wantaway striker Leon Clarke and he is set to lead the Coventry line again as they aim to extend their unbeaten league run to six games.

David Mooney and Lee Cook are pressing for a place in Leyton Orient’s starting XI after making eye-catching cameos as second-half substitutes in the otherwise disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Colchester on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Cook had missed last weekend’s defeat at Oldham through illness but impressed on replacing Dean Cox against the U’s and should get the nod from manager Russell Slade as the O’s look to end a poor run of five defeats in their last seven matches.

However, Slade says he will be having a “body county” before the game.

Leon McSweeney has a calf problem and he, along with Moses Odubajo and Martin Rowlands are serious doubts, while Ryan Allsop, Ryan Brunt, Ben Chorley, Nathan Clarke and Jimmy Smith are also struggling.

Slade cannot call upon Kevin Lisbie, Scott Cuthbert and goalkeeping duo Jamie Jones and Lee Butcher

Striker Kevin Lisbie is thought to be a week away from returning to contention due to a hamstring strain, while defender Scott Cuthbert has a similar complaint. And goalkeepers Jamie Jones (shoulder) and Lee Butcher (knee) are still sidelined.

Coventry will assess the fitness of Nathan Cameron.

The centre-back is carrying a slight twinge after Tuesday’s disappointing last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Brentford and will be monitored in the build up to the encounter.

Otherwise, manager Mark Robins boasts an unchanged squad, with fellow defender Richard Wood expected to continue despite suffering from a broken nose recently.

Robins labelled City’s midweek performance as “simply nowhere near good enough” in the aftermath of a second successive defeat at Griffin Park and, ahead of another trip to the capital, has received a positive response from his players in training.

“They’ve come in and they’ve worked hard,” Robins said. “There are no illusions here, there’s no magic wand or a quick and easy fix. If it was an easy job everybody would be doing it.

“We’ve had a good spell where we had five games (unbeaten), looked like we were playing some decent football and turning a corner. But there’s turning a corner and then there’s obviously sport, and sport kicks you in the teeth at times. We’ve got to get back on the horse and start riding it again and make sure we pick up points.”
