Liverpool may be without Alisson Becker and Thiago Alcantara for their game against Arsenal on Monday evening.
The pair have both been absent from training in the buildup to the game, so will face late checks to see if they are available. Sources such as The Times and The Independent relay the news.
Goalkeeper Alisson suffered with some injury problems last season, keeping him out for 14 games. Adrian would likely deputise if the Brazilian cannot make it.
Meanwhile, doubts about Thiago would give Jurgen Klopp a headache for his midfield options. Liverpool are already without captain Jordan Henderson.
Summer signing Thiago impressed when coming on at half-time against Chelsea for his Premier League debut. However, he may have to wait to add to that – despite Klopp saying he was in contention for a place.
It is not yet clear what problems the pair are currently suffering with. However, they face a race against time to make it into Klopp’s selection.
Liverpool ready for Arsenal double header
Liverpool host Arsenal for the first part of a double header this week when the Gunners visit for a Premier League clash on Monday evening.
Both sides have won both their games in the league so far this season, so one of those 100% records will have to give.
Arsenal got the better of Liverpool on penalties when they met in the Community Shield most recently. The Premier League champions will be trying to reverse those fortunes when they host the Gunners first in the Premier League and then in the Carabao Cup this week.
