Liverpool ask for second opinion on knee injury during Fekir medical

Nabil Fekir has reportedly passed his Liverpool medical, despite the club asking for a second opinion on a knee issue.

Fekir is expected to join Liverpool in a £53million deal this summer, despite Lyon criticising ‘false’ reports on Friday.

The 24-year-old is currently with France’s World Cup squad in Paris, where Liverpool have flown out members of their staff to conduct a medical.

Fekir, who was apparently persuaded to join by Jurgen Klopp himself, is now expected to follow Fabinho and Naby Keita through the door at Anfield.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the forward passed his medical despite ‘a second opinion’ being sought on a potential knee injury.

‘Those fears were eased’ however, and Liverpool are now eager to confirm the deal before the World Cup commences next week.

Lyon did release a statement on Twitter earlier on Friday denying claims that a deal was all but complete for Fekir.
