Sheyi Ojo: May struggle for first-team football at Liverpool

Liverpool will allow Sheyi Ojo to be loaned out to one of two Championship clubs after Newcastle failed to seal a deal for the winger.

Ojo emerged as a Newcastle target earlier in the summer, but the Liverpool Echo reports that they ‘have yet to put together a package’ which the Reds deemed sufficient.

It is believed that Liverpool want around £12million for Ojo’s permanent exit, with a loan move far more likely.

The Echo claims that both Middlesbrough and Fulham are keen to take the 20-year-old for a season.

The Cottagers have offered guaranteed first-team football, while Boro boss Garry Monk has held ‘productive discussions’ over a deal.

Ojo was one of a number of players omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season tour squad earlier this week.
