Adama Traore is poised to sign a new, double-your-money contract at Wolves, to fend off interest from Liverpool and Barcelona in the player.
The Wolves star has established himself as one of the best wide men in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons.
His resurgence after less successful spells with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough has led to speculation he could move to a more traditional big club.
Traore was linked with Liverpool in the summer transfer window, but they acquired a different Wolves player instead in Diogo Jota.
Since then, there has been talk of a potential return to Barcelona for Traore. He spent nine years in their academy before making 63 appearances for their B team. Traore also went on to make four first team appearances.
However, The Sun now reports that Traore is set to show his loyalty to Wolves by signing a new deal. The winger is currently less than halfway into the five-year deal he signed with Wolves upon his £20m arrival from Boro in summer 2018.
However, he is now set to sign a new four-year deal which will double his wages to £100,000 a week.
That will see Traore elevated to their joint best-paid player alongside Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez.
Nuno relaxed over Traore
Traore is likely to sign the new deal this week, claims the report.
However, before then, the winger has the small matter of a clash against Leeds at Elland Road on Monday evening.
Traore is slotted in for a start against the Premier League new boys.
And it seems his manager Nuno Espirito Santo is relaxed about his star winger’s future.
“Things will happen naturally,” the Wolves boss said.
“Speculation around our players doesn’t bother us and we know what we have to do.
“You can see how happy he’s been in training just by seeing us be together again.
“We know what we have to do. First of all you have to be happy where you are and he clearly is.”
