Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly closing in on a £12million deal to sign Leicester winger Demarai Gray.

The 20-year-old has been frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities with the former Premier League champions and that has led to several teams being put on alert for the talented forward.

The Reds remain favourites to sign Gray but Merseyside rivals Everton and north London giants Tottenham are also said to be in the running for his signature.

Liverpool are ready to trigger Gray’s release clause in his Foxes contract, with Leicester set to turn an £8.5m profit on Gray in just 18 months, according to the report in the Sunday Mirror.

Gray, who has won five caps for England’s Under-21s, has scored just once in 39 Premier League appearances for Leicester, although though most of those have been from the bench.
